Baobab, Jojoba, or Plum: How to Choose the Right Oil for Your Skin

There is a question we hear often, usually after someone has discovered that face oils do not, in fact, make your skin oily. The question is: which one?

At Adèle & Camille, we offer three cold-pressed oils. Each one is a single ingredient, sourced in France, and chosen for a specific reason. They work beautifully together, but they are not interchangeable. Here is how to think about them.

If your skin feels out of balance, start with Limitless Jojoba.

Jojoba is not technically an oil. It is a liquid wax, and that distinction matters. Its molecular structure is closer to the skin's own sebum than any other plant-based ingredient, which is why it works for almost every skin type without disruption. Oily skin, combination skin, sensitive skin that reacts to everything: jojoba tends to calm rather than aggravate. It does not block the skin's natural processes. It works with them.

We named it Limitless for a reason. It is the oil with the fewest limits.

If your skin feels dry, tight, or in need of real restoration, reach for Velvet Baobab.

Baobab oil comes from the fruit of the baobab tree, cold-pressed slowly to preserve its full nutritional profile. It is exceptionally rich in omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, which means it does not sit on the surface of the skin. It absorbs, and it stays absorbed, replenishing the moisture barrier from within.

If you have ever applied a product and felt your skin drink it in immediately, that is what baobab feels like. It is the oil we reach for in winter, in air-conditioned environments, or any time skin has lost its natural softness. Dense without being heavy. Nourishing without being occlusive.

If your skin wants clarity and a more even tone, reach for Luminous Plum.

French plum kernel oil has been used in traditional French skincare for generations. Cold-pressed from the kernels of Prunus domestica plums grown in France, it is exceptionally high in vitamin E and oleic acid. Both play a role in protecting skin from oxidative stress, one of the primary causes of uneven tone and dull texture over time.

Luminous Plum is the lightest of the three. It absorbs quickly, leaves no residue, and gives skin a calm, even luminosity that does not look like you are wearing anything. For skin that wants to look like itself, only better, this is the one.

Can you use more than one?

Yes, and many of our customers do. A common ritual is to use Limitless Jojoba in the morning for balance, and Velvet Baobab in the evening for deeper restoration. Luminous Plum works well either way.

The Adèle & Camille philosophy has always been that better skin comes from fewer, smarter choices. These three oils were created to complement each other without overlapping. You can use one. You can use all three. What matters is that whatever you choose, you use it consistently.

That is where the results are.
